📘 Manual Installation Guide – WorkAdventure for Microsoft Teams

This guide explains how to manually install the WorkAdventure application in Microsoft Teams via the Teams Admin Center, without publishing it on the public Teams Store.

🪜 Installation Steps

1. Access the Teams Admin Center

Go to: https://admin.teams.microsoft.com/

  1. Sign in with a Microsoft 365 administrator account
  2. In the left-hand menu, go to Teams apps > Manage apps

2. Allow Custom App Uploads

  1. In the upper-right corner, click on Org-wide app settings
  2. Enable "Allow custom apps"

This allows you to upload apps manually into your Teams tenant.


3. Upload the WorkAdventure App

  1. Return to Manage apps
  2. Click Upload
  3. Select the previously downloaded .zip file
  4. The app will appear in the list with status "Allowed"

4. Manage App Permissions (Optional)

  1. Go to Permission policies
  2. Edit the default policy (e.g. Global - Org-wide default) or create a new one
  3. Under Custom apps, ensure WorkAdventure is allowed

5. Auto-Pin the App in Teams (Optional)

  1. Go to Setup policies
  2. Choose or create a policy
  3. Under Pinned apps, click Add apps
  4. Search for WorkAdventure, add it, then click Save

✅ The app will be pinned by default in the Teams sidebar for all users assigned to this policy.


🔄 Updating the App

To update the app later:

  1. Go to Manage apps and delete the old version
  2. Download and upload the new .zip package
  3. Reassign policies if needed
